Sloth fur can turn green with algae
The coarse outer hair of a two-toed sloth turns green in moist conditions because algae grow on it.
Why it is true
Each hair has grooves running along its length where the algae take hold. Sloths move slowly and spend most of their lives hanging upside down from branches.
